The “Irreplaceable” artist has mutually parted ways and ended a four-year partnership with Adidas over creative differences on how to create the singer’s Ivy Park brand.
The Ivy Park clothing line has been losing money with the brand only making $40M in 2022 which falls short of the $250M they were projected to make in 2023. Adidas sales are also down compared to the $93 million it generated in 2021.
Beyoncé’s Ivy Park brand is also behind the revenue of Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty revenue, which doubled in 2022 by an undisclosed amount. Fenty was also valued at $2.8B by Forbes in 2021.
Beyoncé began her partnership with Adidas in 2019 after her two-year stint with fashion brand Top Shop from 2016-2018 after they first helped with the launching of the Ivy Park brand.
The split also continues a rough stretch for the Adidas brand as they are set to lose over $1B in stock since they parted ways with another musical star Kanye West after his controversial comments about Jews.
Beyoncé is on the brink of leaving the prominent company
Adidas after reports surfaced that the two sides haven’t been able to communicate on the marketing front. The partnership started in 2019.
The “Break My Soul” artist may have to find a new partner now that it seems her clothing brand
Ivy Park and
Adidas won’t execute a deal by the end of this year.
According to media reports, the two sides aren’t seeing eye to eye on how to market the brand, similar to
Kanye West’s Yeezy brand.
Recently, the brand announced its new collection “Park Trail” but fans are having trouble buying online amid planning to score tickets for Queen Bey’s
Renaissance World Tour slated to begin May 10 and end Sept. 27.
According to reports,
Ivy Park’s sales plummeted to more than 50% in 2022.
The sales projections decreased to $63M despite being projected at $335M earlier this year.
Adidas stands to lose $10M in finances from the 2022 collaboration. On the other hand, Beyonce had still been able to get $20M in compensation.
Beyoncé’s brands began independently in 2016 with
TopShop before she became the sole owner in 2018. In 2019,
Ivy Park and
Adidas announced their partnership.
Perhaps in the future, Queen Bey will go independent again if she does not partner with a new company.
Several celebrities have worn
Ivy Park, including
Ice Spice,
Kim Kardashian,
DaBaby,
Gucci Mane,
Lil Yachty,
Winnie Harlow,
Cardi B, and more.
Her highness is also ready to return on stage and visit fans on the road.
Beyoncé is gearing up for a
world tour following her recent album,
Renaissance. This time, she’s headed overseas, kicking off in Stockholm, Sweden, on May 10 and wrapping up in New Orleans on Sept. 27.
