Trump’s legal team received a target letter from Special Counsel Jack Smith, indicating that he is under investigation for his role in the Capitol riot. 

The letter, a formal notice of a pending criminal indictment, suggests that Trump’s arrest is imminent. The former president, however, remains defiant, stating that he believes the investigation is politically motivated.
