Metro Boomin Sells Publishing For $70 Million

Metro Boomin has built an impressive catalog in his career and has now agreed to sell his publishing to Shamrock Capital for $70 million. The new deal follows his latest album, Heroes & Villains.

Metro Boomin Makes A Deal

Star producer Metro Boomin agreed to sell a portion of his music publishing to Shamrock Capital for $70 million, according to a Billboard report. The deal follows after he released his latest album, Heroes & Villains, which reached No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Building Up The Brand

Metro Boomin has become one of the most popular producers for hip-hop and R&B singers over the last decade and has produced hits such as Migos’ “Bad and Boujee,” “Jumpman” by Drake and Future, “Father Stretch My Hands Pt.1” by Kanye West, and more. 

The 29-year-old producer has 99 total entries on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. 

The portion sale of Metro Boomin’s publishing will include many other hit songs he produced. 
Shamrock Capital, who also bought Dr. Dre’s publishing, declined to comment on the publishing deal, in addition to representatives for Metro Boomin.

Publishings For Sale

Metro Boomin is the latest figure in the hip-hop music business to sell his publishing.

Other artists who have sold their publishing include Atlanta rap star and frequent collaborator with Metro Boomin, Future, and singer John Legend. The late music icon Michael Jackson’s catalog was put up for sale in February for a record $800 million.


In addition, Atlanta-based rap label Quality Control Music also sold their music publishing to entertainment company HYBE America.
